Professor Díez is currently working on a comparative (Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico) SSHRC-funded research project on judicial politics, with a particular focus on explaining judicial behaviour in these countries' supreme/constitutional courts.

Professor Díez has published on a variety of areas. He is author/editor of five books, includingThe Politics of Gay Marriage in Latin America: Argentina, Chile and Mexico (Cambridge, 2015), recently translated into Spanish by the Fondo de Cultura Económica.

Jordi Díez is Professor of Political Science at the University of Guelph. A Comparativist by training, Díez teaches and does research in several areas, including comparative politics, Latin American politics, social movements, comparative judicial politics, comparative public policy, sexual and reproductive rights, democratization, institutionalism, and public opinion formation.
