Jordi Díez received his B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, and his M.A. from the University of Essex. He joined the faculty of the Department of Political Science at the University of Guelph in 2004, earned tenure in 2007 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2017. Professor Díez has taught at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and has been a Visiting Professor at the El Colegio de México, the Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile, the University of California, San Diego, and the University of Costa Rica. A recipient of numerous research awards, from organizations including the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the International Development Research Council (IDRC), he was the 2014 Peggy Rockefeller Visiting Scholar at Harvard University.
